Rocky talked to Garren Wood about some things that we would like to make to our website and Garren said it would be no problem; he is currently busy with school. We discussed ways we would like to thank are sponsors who have been wonderful with there donations. Mike Boyer donated hooks and a fly he had tyed ‘De Gem’. The hooks were used for tying the ‘De Gem’ at this meeting. John McLain donated all the materials for tying the ‘De Gem’ and seal dubbing for future flies. Hairline Dubbing, Inc. donated a bag of Teal feathers. And Jim Fisher donated 9 rolls of spooled French Silk. Jerry mentioned picking a sponsor of the month and sending them a fly that was tied at are club meetings, everyone thought that was a great idea. Deanna is going to purchase some Thank You cards to send to sponsors. Rocky discussed donating flies to other convention, that when he donates one it will be by him, Central Oregon Fly Tying Guild member, so we can get the club name out there. The group had the great pleasure of learning how to pair up feathers, as the teal and gadwall feathers were not per paired. Everyone got there hook and then we took lunch break at noon. We resumed at 1:00 and we were off and tying the ‘De Gem’. In this tie everyone learned floss transition, tying on strip wing tail, mounting full feather wing, and wool heads. See pictures of the finished products, GREAT JOB everyone. I want to Thank Jeff Perin for the use of his shop, The Fly Fishers Place, for allowing us to take over the back room.
